Workshop Review
I attended a Process Improvement workshop put on by MWC’s.
I was impressed, Mel was very comfortable and knowledgeable with the subject matter and applied real situations to the examples to make the points more relatable and applicable. The time was well split between presentations and discussions, and Mel was able to get the best out of the groups and encourage participation without putting people on the spot for input. By the end of the session I think everyone had contributed in a comfortable atmosphere and I know we all got something from the day.
Allowing or finding time for working ON the business rather IN the business is something I’ve struggled with since starting my own company. During the workshop Mel suggested some pointers to not only encourage me to make time, but also know when to schedule this time based on when I’m most productive during the week. I’ve already noticed an increase in my output and interest in tasks I previously didn’t make enough time for.
I would thoroughly recommend talking to MWC or going to one of their talks/seminars as there is something for businesses of all sizes.

Workshop Review
During the workshop Melissa got us really thinking about our processes, the way we work and how this could be improved using case studies to demonstrate how crucial it is to know how much time we’re spending on tasks but also who is being allocated to those tasks.
No one likes change however, having started to implement some of these strategies I can see already how my time could be better spent and more efficiencies could be made across the team.
This has enabled me to understand my business more, where time is spent which highlights potential capacity as well as where we might need extra help in the future.
The team feels more connected and in control and I can see where my new tools will also assist me in improving turnaround times and highlighting key performance indicators across the whole team to motivate and reward effort.
